Job Summary:

Our company is seeking a highly organized and experienced Service Manager to oversee the operations of our wastewater treatment systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily activities of our service and maintenance team, ensuring the systems are compliant with local and federal regulations, and maintaining the overall efficiency of our treatment systems. The Service Manager will be a crucial member of our team, responsible for maintaining the high standards of our wastewater treatment services. The Service Manager provides leadership to our service and maintenance associates and ensuring the delivery of superior service support to our customers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, manage, implement and supervise the daily operations of wastewater treatment systems and equipment

• Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, federal and/or approval based regulations 

• Maintain accurate records and reports of facility operations, including daily logs, maintenance schedules, and equipment usage

• Develop and implement standard operating procedures and best practices for wastewater treatment processes

• Hire, train and mentor new and existing wastewater treatment staff

• Improve individual performance of the service staff through daily, monthly and yearly performance reviews.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure the effective management of wastewater treatment processes, including maintenance, laboratory, and engineering

• Ensure the proper maintenance of treatment systems and equipment, including troubleshooting and repair when necessary

• Develop and manage the budget for wastewater treatment operations, including equipment purchases and maintenance costs

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and other departments within the company

 

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in wastewater treatment operations, including supervisory experience

• Strong knowledge of local and federal regulations related to wastewater treatment and disposal

• Knowledge of Wastewater systems

• 3+ years of experience with managing and supervising service and maintenance staff

• Technical knowledge of mechanical components (pumps, valves)

• Project management credentials (i.e. PMP) are an asset

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues

• Ability to train and mentor service and maintenance staff

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Effective listening skills, and patience and tolerance when dealing with customer service issues

• Ability to reply to customer queries and concerns in a timely manner

• Ability to manage a team of operators and work collaboratively with other departments

• Ability to develop and manage budgets and resources

• Availability to work flexible hours and respond to emergencies as needed

• Valid Class “G” drivers license or higher with clean driving record

• Available to work forty (40) hours per week with possible on-call schedule

• Ability to lift seventy (70) pounds
